I've got really dark brown hair, and I want to put a non-permanant plum/purple rinse through it. I've tried using the Schwarzkopf Live stuff in Irrestistable Purple, but it doesn't really show up on my dark hair. Can anyone recommend a dye that is fairly bright that will show up, without me having to lighten my hair?

dont go for plum its really easy for it to look tacky especially when it fades out badly - try something that has a bit more brown in it - i have it at the moment i got a half mix from a level 5 chestnut and a purple colour (cant recall what it was) and the purple has stayed in well and picks up light good as well.

I don't think dying your hair purple or plum is a good idea. It will come back to haunt you later.

You won't be able to dye it over dark hair, you'll have to lighten it so its at least a medium brown.
