From a Biblical standpoint, is it wrong to dye hair and pierce ears?

No reactive answers here, I'm serious: should older Christians with graying hair color their hair, or is this going against what the Bible says in Proverbs 16, "Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life." The Bible shows that graying hair is something to be glad to obtain in life, not something to mask.

And, is the believer exercising true humility in altering or covering over something that is a natural part of life? Generally an older person with dyed hair is very obvious, so is this setting a proper example for younger people of the virtue of humility? (in accordance with numerous Biblical examples, such as Paul's letter to Timothy, in which he instructs older men to set Godly examples for the young men)

If gray hair is a sign of a righteous life, why would this be covered with dyes?

I'd love some serious answers here.

I'm an 18 year old Christian female with bright red dyed hair and pierced ears and an eyebrow. Am I wrong for this? WHY/why not

From a Biblical standpoint, is it wrong to dye hair and pierce ears?

Well you have to consider that this was at a time that peoples average life was about 35 years now days its alot longer.

From a Biblical standpoint, is it wrong to dye hair and pierce ears?

Peter was giving council to mature women when he said,

"Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price."

I Peter 3:3, 4

If your treasure is on heavenly things, then decorating the body is a diversion. I don't think dying or piercing are as much a sin as an indication of where your heart is.

From a Biblical standpoint, is it wrong to dye hair and pierce ears?

nope, there's nothing wrong with dying your hair, or have pierced ears....it's what's in your heart that matters. God doesn't look at that.. as long as you don't walk into church looking like a hooker, lol.

From a Biblical standpoint, is it wrong to dye hair and pierce ears?

Well if dying our hair and having piercings is wrong then the whole WORLD is wrong.

From a Biblical standpoint, is it wrong to dye hair and pierce ears?

No you are not wrong for this! "all things are permissible, but not all things are profitable..."-Paul

True to cover up what is natural is hiding what God had created, however, it is not wrong or a sin. Why do you feel the need to alter your natural appearance? Can truly answer WHY? If you can, and you are comfortable with that answer, then hey, do what you do!
