yes u would have to bleach it then dye it purple...i had dyed mine about 2 years ago black then i wanted red streaks , therefor i had to bleach the streacks, i actually didnt have to leave the bleach too long cuz the would almost turn extrem. blonde..then i dyed the blonde streaks red and bloah lah...i had red bright streaks...

Acutally, in order to die dark hair blonde you would most likely have to bleach it. Blonde over brwon doesn't work out too well. So i'd say yes... you'd have to bleach it

IF you want funky hair colors like PURPLE use a GOOD bleach, or even go to a Salon anfd have them do the bleaching part. Cuz the lighter your hair is the better and brigher the PURPLE will be.
